3 of the Most Scenic Drives in Maine

Pequawket Trail

While Midcoast Maine doesn’t have particularly famous roadways to drive along, that doesn’t mean you have to miss out when you visit this region. Simply take advantage of the fact that you can check out scenic byways when you take road trips from other states. One of the best examples is the Pequawket Trail on Route 113. It’s ideal for when you travel to Boothbay Harbor from Vermont or New Hampshire.

Acadia All-American Road

If you’re up for a day trip during your stay with us at Topside Inn, we suggest embarking on an adventure to Acadia National Park. Not only will you be able to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities at the park, but you’ll also get a chance to drive along the Acadia All-American Road on Route 3. This 40-mile road features views of the water, mountains, forest, and more. Make sure you save time and energy to go hiking or biking in the park!

Schoodic National Scenic Byway

Would you like to check out another scenic drive in Maine while you’re in the Acadia National Park area? Consider turning onto the Schoodic National Scenic Byway nearby. It’s 29 miles long and takes you through the main section of the park. Keep an eye out for lighthouses and wildlife while you travel along this route!
