He worked in several famous restaurants in Trevi, Fiumicino, and Rome before moving to New York City where he became a maitre D’. In 2010, Calandri decided to relocate to Boothbay Harbor and purchased Ports of Italy.

“In Italy, we don’t know how to cook,” he says. “We don’t do fancy things. It’s always simple!” This modest philosophy, combined with inspiration from his mother’s cooking and chef Fabrizio Ventricini’s creativity, make Ports of Italy simply delicious.
