What Can I Expect at the Pemaquid Oyster Festival?

Each year since 2001, thousands of fresh oysters are harvested from the Damariscotta River and served at the Pemaquid Oyster Festival. Though oysters on the half shell are by far the most popular way to enjoy these mollusks, seafood fans can also opt for oyster stew, fried oysters, or baked oysters Rockefeller. After your meal, enjoy a great lineup of entertainment, boat rides, and educational exhibits. A long list of talented bands provides all-day music as you enjoy the festivities. You can even step aboard the River Tripper and tour the local oyster farms.

Support the Community While Having a Great Time

Did you know that the Pemaquid Oyster Festival is also a fundraiser? The Pemaquid Oyster Co. and Schooner Landing host it each year, and proceeds benefit the Edward A. Myers Marine Conservation Fund. It has already raised thousands of dollars to maintain a sustainable waterfront and protect native marine life. By attending, you’re supporting this mission and ensuring a bright future for our community and oyster industry.
